Our Story

Once upon a time, a singer and a stilt-walker fell in love while dancing together in a magical land.

With each passing year, they wandered to new places—near and far—making friends and chosen family along the way. One day, a little ritual emerged. One would say, "Let's go be cute!" and the other would smile and reply, "Okay! Which coffee shop today?"

Coffee shops became some of our favorite places to gather, connect, dream, and simply be. They were spaces where community flourished, where strangers became friends, and where life's ordinary moments felt a little more magical.

We are a queer, interracial couple, and mixing and matching are at the heart of our lives. We find beauty in the messy in-between—in different cultures, perspectives, experiences, and stories coming together. That spirit inspires everything we do.

After years of wandering, we found ourselves in Durham. What started as another stop along the way soon became something more—a place where we could imagine putting down roots, building community, and creating a home. We were drawn to the city's creative spirit, its deep sense of care, and the people who make Durham uniquely itself.

Our love of coffee has always been about more than what's in the cup. It's about the people who grow it, roast it, serve it, and gather around it. It's about creating spaces where neighbors become friends, where chosen family expands, and where everyone has a place to belong.

What began as a wandering coffee adventure eventually grew into a place we now call home. Today, this café is our love letter to Durham—a gathering place built from our shared passions for hospitality, human connection, nature, creativity, and, of course, great coffee. We hope it feels warm, welcoming, and just a little bit magical.
